Introducing tw! new General Managers

We are thrilled to be joined by Nadine Dukeson and Holly Barradell with us as newly appointed General Managers. This is the step that sets theatre works! up for a sustainable future rather than one that depends on two founders and a great deal of goodwill.

Nadine brings more than fifteen years in international broadcast journalism, including senior roles at BBC World News in London and at Agence France-Presse in the United States. Both required her to run teams and to communicate clearly under pressure, which is much of what the General Manager role requires. Originally from Wales, she has lived in the United States for six years, which gives her a useful transatlantic view of an organization that works on both sides of the Atlantic. She is a regular theatergoer in Washington, DC, on her own and with her children.

We asked Nadine for her thoughts on the new role.

‘I’m absolutely delighted to be joining theatre works! and its talented team of professionals. I look forward to bringing my experience managing teams and operations in the media sector, along with my lifelong love of theater, to help theatre works! continue its work creating life-changing opportunities for young people through the arts.’

Nadine works alongside Holly Barradell, our new part-time General Manager in the UK.

Holly trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she took her degree in professional stage management, and she has spent her career since then in school-based theatre education. Most recently she was an assistant headteacher and director of performing arts in Kent. She also sits on the drafting team for the 2028 English and drama national curriculum in England, which means she knows exactly where our Education Hub materials sit in a teacher’s week. Few people understand both the stage and the classroom as well as she does.

We asked Holly for her thoughts on the new role.

‘Theatre can change the way a young person sees the world and the way they see themselves. I’m passionate about making sure the opportunity to experience live performance isn’t determined by postcode or circumstance. I’m delighted to be joining theatre works! as the UK General Manager and look forward to helping open that door for even more young people.’
