What do children have to say?

As a charitable trust, we have helped many children experience theatre. From schools to girl guides, we have provided tickets for shows and workshop sessions which the children have really enjoyed.

One school (which we shall keep anonymous) said:

“We visited the theatre with the whole of Year 7 in their second term of secondary school and we were delighted to able to see a top-quality performance by the RSC…The theatre visits were very successful.  The students enjoyed the performance….it also had a lovely message of hope which the students commented on.”

We were thrilled to hear how much these students enjoyed their visit - hopefully the RSC managed to spark not only an interest in theatre but also opened their eyes to a wider world of cultural activities.

Here are some quotes from the students:

“I liked the good body language and costumes. The music and humour were very good too and special effects were fantastic. You feel very relaxed and you almost feel like you are in the story.”

“It was very tense when it was the interval and we thought the elephant was going to die. I liked the good body language and costumes, as well as the loud projecting voices. You could hear them at the back. “

“We were on the edge of our seats the whole time. It was brilliant from start to finish."

Another school said:

“We really appreciated having the funding from theatre works! as this enabled us to buy tickets for a whole year group… This funding was invaluable and enabled the school to commit to a whole cohort visiting a quality live theatre performance, we are very grateful for the support.”

We cannot say how appreciative we are to hear feedback like this since it really shows the impact live theatre can have on children. We are proud to facilitate this kind of learning and enjoyment for children that might not be able to get these experiences.
